About

Hi, I am Nick and I currently live in the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. Fair Play Records is my new venture, passion, or whatever superlative fits with collecting, buying and selling records. I grew up with vinyl as one of the main sources of listening to music along with cassettes and the radio. Of course, I, like everybody in those days would sit at my stereo on Sunday evenings when the weekly charts were playing on the radio with my cassette recorder on play/record and pause. Cutting off songs and inadvertent DJ musings didn’t exactly enhance the listening experience, so I found myself scouring shops looking for both new and used vinyl. Decades later, I still have a passion for music and vinyl, and it seems that a lot of people agree as modern day artists are releasing a ton of new music on vinyl, bringing us back to the pleasure of artwork, lyrics, booklets and photos that are all found within the sleeve of the record cover.

As someone who has gone through the process of building up a collection, I truly know what they mean to people. Music creates numerous emotional reactions and one never so strong as having to part ways with something that you have built over years or even decades. When the time has come to sell a collection, whether it’s precipitated by a move, a lack of space or even an estate sale, no one wants to feel like they are “giving away” something so personal. I will come to you or arrange for you to visit our listening room. We will take a look and give you a price. Let’s keep it fair – our goal is for you to walk away knowing you did the right thing by selling to Fair Play Records.
